Press: Soybean Association breaks ground for headquarters

August 7, 2008

The Iowa Soybean Association broke ground for a headquarters on Monday in the Prairie Trail town center development in Ankeny, near the Des Moines Area Community College campus.

The three-acre property was a gift to the Iowa Soybean Association from Dennis Albaugh of DRA Properties and Harry Stine of Stine Seed. The building is expected to be completed by Sept. 1, 2009.

The new structure, designed by SVPA Architects Inc., will provide space for an on-site lab and a meeting room. The building, being built by the Weitz Corp., will be near the new FFA building and the college campus, creating opportunities for new partnerships.

The groundbreaking was followed by a barbecue at Albaugh Inc. headquarters and included a tour of Albaugh’s classic car collection.
