The Master Plan is organized into a number of individual neighborhoods within Prairie Trail, with each neighborhood featuring a range of housing types and a variety of architectural styles.
Housing will vary in cost and style to accommodate a range of households. The character of these units will be derived from the documentation of Ankeny and nearby Iowa towns and will be guided by a residential Pattern Book to be developed in the next phase of design. Parks and other civic amenities will be designed in close proximity to houses to create a walkable environment for residents and visitors. Neighborhoods will connect to one another throughout Prairie Trail via a greenway of parkways and boulevards which weave along the natural stream beds.
